Glasgow, Scotland Glasgow's international festival of traditional music and the biggest winter music festival of its kind in the world. Launched in 1994 as a small festival in only one venue that attracted 32,000 people to attend. Now over 100,000 are filling 10 venues, listening to hundreds of artists brought to Glasgow from every part of the globe. |

Bathgate, Midlothian, Scotland Edinburgh and Lothians Branch of the TMSA, jointly with West Lothian Council, are hosting the next Singers' Gathering, to be held in the newly-refurbished Regal Community Theatre, Bathgate, on 24th/25th February 2007. The event celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the TMSA in unaccompanied and group singing, focussing on the evolving Scots song tradition. More information>> |

Dunkeld & Birnam - Perthshire Scotland The Annual Niel Gow Festival was established in 2004 to celebrate the life and music of Perthshire's fiddle legend. It is envisaged that through time the festival and other activities will gather enough funds to erect a fitting memorial in Dunkeld & Birnam. The festival will include recitals, concerts, workshops and sessions and Ceilidh Dance. |

Collessie - Fife Scotland This is the sixth year of this unique event which brings together some of Scotland's finest exponents of traditional singing for a weekend of old songs and bothy ballads in concerts and singarounds in the rural surroundings of the Fife Farm Park. The weekend also includes workshops/talks on topics related to traditional song and culture. |

Newcastleton - Borders Scotland The Newcastleton Traditional Music Festival is probably the longest continuously running traditional music festival in Scotland. Founded in 1970 we revolve around a series of competitions (mainly on Saturday), loosely linked by dances and organised ceilidhs on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Ayr - Ayrshire Scotland At the end of the week of Common Ground workshops there is a Weekend Festival - the Common Ground Festival Weekend. Traditional music content with a strong Scottish flavour but not exclusively Scottish nor will the focus be exclusively on traditional music. |

Auchtermuchty Festival The Auchtermuchty 10 day festival was started in 1981 with the second weekend as a traditional folk music festival. The event brings musicians and singers from all over Scotland with competitions in traditional instruments and singing, concers, ceilidhs and open-air music. |

Edinburgh Fringe Festival The biggest arts festival in the world. In 2006 the Fringe presented 1,800 shows in almost 250 venues. One of the main series of Folk Events is at the Acoustic Music Centre at St Bride's Centre. (This link will not show 2008 information till early June). |

Linlithgow Folk Festival Ever since we got together in 1998, we have had as our main aim the promotion of folk music in West Lothian, in all its many different styles.
