Pete Coe


Pete Coe Throughout the folk revival from the 1970s and through the later decades Pete Coe has been a major influence in the folk scene and a tireless performer - as singer, song writer, folk song collector, multi-instrumentalist, dance caller and teacher, step-dancer and so on. He turned professional in 1971 with his then wife Chris Coe and has been part of several groupings - dance band The New Victory Band, the folk group Bandoggs and the politically oriented Red Shift. Born in Cheshire he later moved as a student to Cheltenham, then to Birmingham where he was part of the Black Diamond Folk Club and now lives in Ripponden in West Yorkshire.
